12 Days of Blogmas: 5 | Behind the Gram

Happy Monday!

How are we feeling? Good, I hope.

There’s still so much December left. & the holidays are swiftly approaching. Time to officially put the Christmas playlist on repeat.

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to do another Behind the Gram post. I did one a while ago, & I just loved the idea of sharing the real deal of what’s happening behind the scenes. Because “picture-perfect” isn’t always what it seems. My life definitely isn’t perfect. It’s more of a hot-mess express situation, but I love every second of it. That makes it all the more fun to share.

So, let’s get right into it.

This night, my heart was SO full. It was Jaxx’s first night home. He was only 6 weeks old. He was super nervous & a little shaky at first, like most puppies are. He roamed around getting the feel of his new home, & after a couple of hours he started to relax a little. Then out of nowhere came his feisty personality. This boy had me laughing all night! He literally played himself to sleep. Initially he was passed out on my bed, but he woke up just to come lay on me. I couldn’t resist snapping a pic, because hello, how sweet?! Oh, take me back.

This was taken on Christmas Day back in 2018. But it’s one of my favorites, so I always re-share. There was actually a lot going on this day. Most of my family was in town, & we had just had a really big brunch in our Christmas pjs followed by some karaoke. Then, the whole family decided to get dressed & the get the shenanigans started. I snapped this pic during the transition, because it’s not really Christmas if you don’t take pictures, haha! Everyone was running around & calling each other into every room for one reason or another. It was chaos, but in the best way possible!

Shout out to Mom for snapping this one! I’d just gotten home from work & we were just standing outside chit-chatting because it was so nice out. Mom complimented my outfit, & then she did the mom thing where she was like, “Go stand over there & let me take your pic.” & of course, I was sooo into this outfit, that I accepted with no hesitation. Props to her for her photography skills.

Oh sweet, sweet Halloween. Or should I say birthday? This was taken this year on All Hallows Eve & I just am obsessed with how it came out. On this day, I got up & got dressed just for this shoot. I went to dinner that night, & before that took place, I ended up sitting on the side of my bed for a good hour trying to decide if I was going to wear this dress or not. In the end, I decided on a different outfit, which was smart because the temperature dropped majorly. This day will forever be in my memories because there was just sooo much love shown. I STILL don’t have the words to express my gratitude.

This picture was taken during the week of Thanksgiving this year. I was actually in Mississippi visiting family & friends. My Nana & I were on our way to the mall to do some Black Friday shopping. You can’t tell by the looks of it, but I was feeling AWFUL. I had a sinus infection, & the scoreboard was looking like the infection was winning. They’re just never fun to deal with. & to be honest, I’m still not completely over it. SMH. The struggle. Anyway, overall it was a good time because it was the first time I’d been back in Mississippi since I first moved. I really enjoyed it.

So, as you can see, it isn’t always perfect, & it isn’t always planned. But every moment is worth sharing.

Alright, that is all.

It’s time to go light some candles & turn on Hallmark. I’m ready for just all of the Christmas movies! Tell me your favorites below!

Ciao, babes.
