How to Make the Most of Your Shorter Fall Days

Hello beautiful people! Welcome back!

I hope you’re comfy & have your favorite drink, because today we’re discussing how to be your most productive self during these short fall days.

It’s no secret that when summer starts to fade away, the amount of daylight we have is shortened. & if you’re anything like me, once it gets dark outside, you go into complete chill mode, especially during this cozy season. So, we have to make the most of our time & get things done while we can.

Here in Texas, during the summer months, the sun would rise roughly around 6:30am & set around 9:45pm. That’s a whole lot of daylight. Now that it’s fall, the sun doesn’t rise until around 7:30am & sets around 6:50pm. It’s a big difference & can seem like a lot of time lost, but if you are strategic, you’ll be surprised what you can accomplish.

Really, it’s all about planning, & I’m going to share how I make these short days work for me.

Set Your Schedule

This has to be at the top of your list because your schedule is where it all begins. Without it, you’ll just be aimlessly doing things, & still won’t have much done by the end of the day. Personally, I like to plan by the month, or at the very least by the week. This way, even if things don’t go exactly as planned, I can easily get back on track. Trust me. It helps.

Write It Down

It’s one thing to have your plans in your head, but to actually have them written down or logged somewhere makes it a whole new ballgame. I’m a big fan of planners. You can just get everything down & out of your head. More space to think, ya know? Also, being able to refer back to your planner helps if a task slips your mind.

I like to have my plans on paper & on my device. This planner is super cute to keep at your desk, & this one is perfect for when you’re on the go. & if you’re wondering. Yes, I recommend both. We don’t always have time to grab our physical planner before we run out the door, but we will always have our phones. So, they both are useful.

Wake Up & Get Started Early

Boy, oh boy. I’m always saying that the colder it gets, the harder it is to get out of bed. Because it’s just SO comfy & warm. So, waking up early & actually removing myself from bed can be my biggest challenge of the morning. But, this is how you get that head start & take advantage of your whole day.

Use Time Blocking

When I learned about this, I discovered a REAL gem. Time blocking is when you focus on one thing for a set time to get it done, instead of attempting to multi-task & only having a bunch of partially completed projects. I’m telling you guys, it is the best thing ever! If you’ve never tried it, you should switch things up & see how it works for you. & to keep away from distractions, instead of using your phone, you can use this time cube. It’s super cute & effective.

Don’t Procrastinate

I think this is self explanatory, but sometimes we just need a reminder to stay on track. I know all too well how easy it is to want to put something off for “later.” & when we do that, later rarely comes. So hop to it, & just get it done.

See? Super simple. & you’ll be surprised on how effective these tips are. Also, you should know that I’m in this with you. I’m totally holding myself accountable to just take action & complete my tasks.

Ah, so good.

Alright, babes. Time to rock out the rest of this week. How are you holding yourself accountable?

Later.
