The Pursuit of L; Let's Talk Vision Boards

So, we’ve talked about how to completely knock out the first quarter. Now it’s time to talk vision.

Cause, we can’t really get far if we have no vision.

I decided to bring back this post as sort of a “blast from the past, & also to really get you going towards setting your vision for 2024.

So, without further ado, let’s discuss.

How many times do you find yourself going in circles when it comes to your goals?

Like, you have an idea of your direction, but you get distracted, & end up doing something completely different?

It’s not just you. We all have experienced it. & if I’m being honest, that’s totally okay. Don’t be so hard on yourself, because life happens ALL the time. But today, I wanted to take a moment to discuss the one way I’ve been able to stay focused & continue taking the right steps towards my goals.

Vision boards.

I just love them. They allow a more creative way to get your goals out of your head & onto the page. A theory I like to go by is that it’s easier to go after what you want when you can actually see it.

For the longest time, I was told that & I just ignored it, because my goals are always in my head. I thought keeping them in mind was just as good as writing them down or anything else. But after having tried it the other way, my opinion has changed greatly. There’s just something so liberating about reaching a goal & being able to physically cross it off your list. I live for it.

Also, in my humble opinion, it can be easier to lose sight of your goals when they aren’t in front of you. Because if you’re anything like me, your brain is going a million miles a second & doing laundry turns into rearranging your entire home office. Madness. But when your goals are actually put on the page, they can’t go away or be forgotten.

So let’s discuss getting your vision in front of you, shall we?

A vision board in a typical case is done by grabbing a large poster & a stack of your favorite magazines with some hot glue & scissors.

But we’re taking it digital here on TPOL. I am a firm believer in saving the trees.

The easiest way to create your digital vision board is through Canva. The drag & drop interface makes everything super simple. Oh, did I mention that digital boards are much quicker to do? We love it.

Okay, check out how easy this is.

First thing’s first. Grab your device. You can use either your phone or your computer. Both will work well.

+ Decide your theme

This will determine what your board will look like & be geared toward overall. We’re talking colors & direction here.

+ Gather all of your photos

Save them to your camera roll if you’re using your phone, or to your downloads if you’re using your computer. & remember, your photos need to represent your vision.

+ Open Canva & Import Your Pictures

I love that Canva allows you to upload multiple photos at once. Saves so much time.

+ Drag & Drop Until Your Heart is Content

Get really creative! There are no limits here.

That’s all there is to it! I was super pleased with how mine turned out.
