I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a fresh manicure.
It’s one of the simple things in life that helps me feel like I have my life together (even when it’s far, far from that).
There’s something about a shiny topcoat, freshly trimmed cuticles, & hearing the compliment “Oh my gosh, I love your nails!” that just feels so good. If you can relate to this feeling, I have five nail ideas for you to try out this winter!
1. Short & Dark
Beauty insiders are predicting that long nails are out, & short nails are definitely in. Short nails are minimalistic, don’t get in the way, & adding a dark shade just makes them POP. Trust me on this one, babe. Darker nail shades are definitely more common in the winter, & if you’re up for it, you have a small window left to try it out! I recommend sticking to shades like a deep navy blue, purple, or even a dark green.
2. Milky Manis
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Hailey Bieber popularized the recent trend of “glazed donut” nails, which is done by using a light color & then topping it with chrome for an iridescent shine. This popular combo is definitely not going anywhere anytime soon because it looks good with any nail length, & is a great, light transition as the weather begins to warm.
3. Sparkly Tips
Switch-up your french manicure this year by adding in a thin line of sparkles to accentuate your tips instead of a stark white. Or, reverse it, & use sparkles as your base & a white french tip on top. This is a fun, festive way to acknowledge the New Year, but keep things monochromatic & easy to match.
4. Red, Red, RED!
The red nail theory is getting popular on social media accounts, & if you haven’t heard of it, it basically implies that men are subconsciously attracted to red nails. Now, there’s no science to support this claim, but red is still a timeless, classic look that may or may not get you some extra male attention. Whether you opt for a cherry-plucked or a deep mahogany, you cannot go wrong with red nails!
5. Abstract Designs
Another popular trend has been nail designs that feature monochromatic squiggles, swirls, and waves. This design is fun and vertisle, and honestly, pretty hard to mess-up if you’re the type of person who likes to do their nails themselves.
Let me know what nail trends you try out this winter!
