Blogtober 12th: DFW Fall City Guide
Being in Texas means having WAY more to explore.
There is undoubtedly always an event of some sort happening. It’s part of what I love about living here. In fact, it almost feels like I’m on a permanent vacation.
The DFW metroplex area is HUGE & the season has changed, which means fall events that the city hosts will be plentiful. Today, I’m giving you a super fun guide of things that are taking place over the next couple of weeks. I’ve even signed up for a few of them myself!
SO.
The State Fair of Texas
What better way to kick off things than with the infamous state fair? It’s held in Fair Park & has everything that a fair could possibly offer like competitions, shows, concerts, exhibitions &, not to mention, food. It is also home to the largest Ferris wheel in North America.
Delaney Vineyards
There are plenty of vineyards in this area, but I recommend Delaney in Grapevine. Go enjoy an evening of wine tasting & a historical tour of the largest vineyard in North Texas.
Autumn at the Arboretum
This event captures the essence of fall. The location is described to be a “66-acre oasis.” One of the top attractions here is their nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village. This year, over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds, & squash are being used to recreate Peter Pan’s Neverland. Tinker Bell & Captain Hook even make appearances on the weekends. Added bonus? Concerts are happening until the 25th of this month.
Dallas Uptown Foodie Walk
An event that highlights food?! Yes indeed. Make your way uptown to the urban living, dinning, & shopping district. The news is to come with an empty stomach, because you’ll be walking through the West Village & surrounding areas while eating every step of the way. Oh, also. It’s said to be the most pedestrian friendly area in Dallas.
Shakespeare in the Park
First of all, I’m totally obsessed with Shakespeare! Located at Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre & Addison Circle Park, a well-known tragedy, Othello, is being featured. Since it’s at a park, you can help yourself to your very own picnic while watching the drama unfold. There are also concessionaires on the site.
Sailing with Scott
This is exactly what it sounds like: you & 48 others on a boat, sailing on Lake Ray Hubbard with the owner, Scott Self. The 90-minute cruise begins at the Harbor in Rockwall. Scott says he’s just the captain, so bring your own everything.
Hidden Dallas Food & Fun Tour
More food. But this time, it involves some real exploring. You’ll be exposed to places in Dallas that not many are aware of. You will discover scenic, architectural, & cultural areas, stopping along the way for some yummy delights.
Of course this isn’t everything that’s happening. Honestly, I haven’t even put a dent in the list of opportunities that the DFW area holds. These specifics just stood out the most to me. So, if you happen to be in the city this fall, don’t be afraid to submerge yourself in some of the fun.
Catch you guys later.
