Travel Diary Pt. 1 | England Adventures
Hi, Hello, What’s Up?!
Welcome to the first chapter of my “Travel Diary: England Adventures” series.
This trip has been long awaited.
I was here last year & literally couldn’t wait to come back. There’s something about this place that sparks inspiration & big ideas—& let’s just say, this year is going to be full of exciting things connected to it. Stay tuned for what’s to come!
But here’s the thing—instead of diving headfirst into sightseeing, I’ve taken these first few days to just breathe. To rest, reset, & really reconnect with myself.
This trip isn’t just about exploring new places; it’s about setting the stage for some big goals I have for the year. So grab a cozy drink & let’s kick things off, starting with a little travel day recap & some incredible food highlights.
+ The Journey to London
Getting to London?
Oh, it was a journey. Picture this: a full 24-hour travel day. I flew Delta with a layover in Atlanta, & because snowstorms were rolling through the U.S., my flight got delayed, stretching an already long day even further. Oh, & it was freezing. The kind of cold that makes you wish you’d packed an extra layer.
Thankfully, the flights were smooth for the most part (aside from a little turbulence about an hour before landing in London—always an adventure!). When I finally touched down & stepped off the plane, it felt like such a relief. Settling into my cozy accommodations & realizing that this adventure was just beginning? Pure bliss.
+ Food Highlights
Let’s talk about one of my favorite parts of traveling: the food. Even though I’ve been taking it slow, I’ve already had some meals that deserve a moment in the spotlight.
First up: Dippers. Oh my goodness, you guys, their Nashville & Toastie Sandwich with a side of fries? Absolute perfection. The flavors were so bold, the seasoning was spot-on, & honestly, it’s already a contender for my all-time favorites. I’ll definitely be dreaming about it for a while.
Then there’s the Chocoberry Café. This little gem is everything I love about cozy vibes & indulgence. The desserts? Next level. Decadent, rich, & just downright delightful. It’s the kind of place where you can savor every bite & feel totally at peace—exactly what I needed to align with this focus on rest & mindfulness.
+ Travel Tips for a Restful Vacation
If you’re planning a trip & want to start things off with rest & ease, here are a few tips I’ve found super helpful:
- Ease Into the New Time Zone: Jet lag can hit hard, so stay hydrated, adjust your sleep schedule gradually, & give yourself grace to rest when needed.
- Pack for Comfort: Cozy travel clothes, a good book, & snacks made my long travel day so much smoother.
- Make Space for Reflection: Use those first quiet days to journal, set intentions, & just breathe. It’s amazing how grounding it feels to pause before diving into the hustle of exploring.
Starting this trip with rest has been such a gift. I think we can all feel the pressure to hit the ground running when we travel, but this slow start has been exactly what I needed. It’s given me space to reconnect with myself & to get really clear on what I want to achieve this year.
One big realization? Rest isn’t just nice—it’s necessary. We spend so much time rushing from one thing to the next, but this intentional pause has been the perfect reminder that slowing down can be just as powerful as taking action.
Thanks so much for joining me on the start of this journey. While I haven’t ventured into some of England’s iconic spots yet, these quiet days of rest have been the perfect way to begin. The adventures are coming soon, & I can’t wait to share them with you!
What about you? Do you take time to rest & reset when you travel? I’d love to hear your tips & stories—drop them in the comments below.
Look out for part 2, & cheers to cozy moments & exciting adventures ahead!
